Even though I was strongly attracted by the film when I entered in a theater for the first time, it was completely out of my imagination that cinema would be that to which I would dedicate all my life. At that time, I was a primary school pupil. But since then, cinema has become one of my dreams and I went on being excited by the idea of making a movie by myself. At high-school and at university I spent a lot of time writing scripts, trying to introduce the beautiful Chinese folk stories onto the screen. This was not well considered at that time, plus with my lack of professional knowledge and life experience, the result was very poor indeed.
