Inhaltsangabe

Some very important changes in American telecommunications policy occurred in 1982. On 1 the one hand Judge Harold Greene brought the anti-trust cast against AT&T (American Telephone and Telegraph Company) to a successful conclusion and achieved the breakup of the world's largest private corporation. On the other hand, Mark Fowler, Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, steered American telecommunications policy towards deregulation. Because of the influence of the United States, these two events will have repercussions not only in North America but also in Western Europe and the Third World.
