Inhaltsangabe

With the advent of synthetic fibres and increasingly sophisticated medical prostheses after W.W.II, the body, hitherto the expression of " naturalness " despite the use of countless devices, experienced its first intimate link with the artificial in the strict sense of the word. The subsequent introduction into what were or were perceived to be clothing accessories, of electronic devices and new communication technologies — of which the paradigm is the mobile phone — has represented a far deeper aesthetic break which has effectively impacted on social relations. Both fashion and its vocabulary must henceforth take into account this progressive, international and inexorable transformation of the human being into an individual- machine.
