Inspired by the Shakespearean text, modern arts have generated reshaped masterpieces that reveal our "modern experience, anxiety and sensitivity" (Kott: 49). The present article attempts to briefly trace the influence exerted by Shakespeare's Macbeth on various contemporary cinematographic productions with special emphasis on Orson Welles's 1948 blockbuster. |
