The image of criminals of ecclesiastical crimes in mass media is an issue in the undertaken scientific deliberations. Canon law covers every faithful Catholic Church, and church criminal law treats both lay and clergy alike. There are many types of crimes that the code lists, it is impossible to discuss each of them in a comprehensive manner in such a short work in a holistic way. Public, secret and notorious offenses, as well as their calculation, have been made to lighten the reader's general situation to answer the question of who a criminal in canon law can be. Due to the advancing technological advances in the increasingly globalized world, the image of every person appearing in the media is becoming his business card. Mass culture is globally common. The press is today processed on virtual media, not on paper as in the past. The image of an offender in the forbidden church is at the same time the image of the entire church community, and this affects the whole of the institution. Public crimes pose a threat to the good of the Church, however, journalistic publications about false or unidentified crimes harm both the investigation, the injured person and the alleged criminal and, above all, the entire community of the faithful. An important aspect in the use of the media is the impartiality and reliability of the information provided, which should never be overlooked. The transmission of information is creating the image of a given medium, but above all the criminal himself. Once a tarnished image is extremely difficult to clear, for example, untrue accusations. The last body deciding on innocence or paying a penalty for a committed proven offense belongs to a competent judge.
