Instabile Narrationen und die Narration der Instabilität

Die erzählten Welten des phantastischen Films sowie die Art und Weise ihrer narrativen Vermittlung bilden den Untersuchungsgegenstand der Arbeit. Im Einzelnen untersucht werden instabile und mehrdeutige Erzählperspektiven, Durchbrechungen und Auflösungen der raumzeitlichen Kontinuität, destabilisierte Erzählerinstanzen, Verschachtelungen der Erzählebenen sowie die Kategorien der Figur, des Raums und das grenzüberschreitende Ereignis der Inszenierung virtueller Medienrealitäten im phantastischen Film. Die Arbeit greift dabei auf Beispiele von der Frühzeit des fiktionalen Films bis zur Gegenwart zurück.

This book investigates the narrated worlds of fantastic film and the methods of their narrative mediation. This includes instable and ambiguous perspectives of perception, abandonment and disintegration of spatial-temporal continuity, instances of destabilized narrators, blending of the narrative levels as well as categories of figure, space and the event of crossing borders of the genre in the staging of virtual media realities in the fantastic film. The book refers to examples of the early years of fictional film up to the present.
