This article examines the move of French-Canadian fashion magazines towards digital platforms. It focuses on a “logic of cohabitation” between the print and web versions. The magazine’s presence on different mobile devices has also been observed. The results of the analysis reveal that contents developed for digital versions of the analyzed magazines fill a utilitarian function and tend to be complementary to the print version. The latter is appreciated for its tactile properties and is perceived as a reference in terms of information. As for the mobile magazine, it acts as a provider of instantly available bite-sized content.
|
