The European Union has always had a very good image among the citizens of Member States. Whether the standard of living increase or fell, the positive image of the European Union was preserved relatively well. The EU has always been seen by emerging country as a "lifeboat", as a transnational organization that would solve the economic and financial problems for itself, but reality has shown that the EU provides non-repayable funds (grants) that the Newest Member States were not able to access them for various reasons. This study will reveal some new aspects that other surveys have not taken into account, such as major reasons for poor absorption of European funds for Romania, the distribution of political power in the European Union, the increasing power and involvement of the European Commission in the national politics of the Member States, the main areas of activity in Romania from the EU which could have major benefits, the refusal of France and Germany to Romania's accession to the Schengen Area, "Gypsy problem" etc.
