The paper approaches the implications and effects of the new media on the events considered of historical and worldwide importance, media events. Starting from the features of the media events defined by Daniel Dayan and Elihu Katz in 1992, the article analyses them in a recent media event, the royal wedding of Prince William with Catherine Middleton, in April 2011.
